If you never tried a puzzle game, pick up this gem. Art style combined with the very nice ambient music makes for a very relaxing puzzle time. Do not worry, there will be more colors then blue and white. The puzzles are diffent enough to keep things interesting, some based on stacking, some of balance, some with added physics, some for pushing and pulling. Im not yet done with the game, but I am sure I will be pleasently suprised as the game plays out. Someone worte "bad voice acting". My take on that is "the guy drawing draws, thats where his expertice is, not voice acting his unnamed hero". Beautiful isometric view, relaxing soundtrack, interesting puzzles and captivating story. Recommended for a quiet evening at home :). It could have been a great game if not for the automatic save. If you did not finish a chapter you will have to restart it every time you restart the game. Very annoying. Why there is not a manual save ?. Nice artwork and art style. I wanted to love it, but there are a couple of problems that I really can't get past. 1. Player momentum-platformingThis game wants to be a platformer, but the momentum of the PC is infuriating. I had absolutely no confidence that I could put the player where I wanted to on screen. Making small movements is very difficult. Some physics decisions are difficult to understand. I walked into a bridge I had placed and instead of stepping up on top of it, the character kicked it off the ledge and then walked off the ledge to its death.2. Interface and optionsThis game is obviously meant to be played with a controller, and the keyboard\/mouse combination is kind of an add-on. The game uses a ring interface to select one of 6 tools, and the mouse selection is not really usable because very small movements of the mouse will change the tool selection, so it's difficult to get the tool you want with any kind of reliability.There are few control options, so rather than being able to assign keys to each of the 6 tools, e.g., 1-6, or qazwsx or something like that. Also, the view is isometric, so walking in a primary, cardinal direction requires two keys to be held, and it would be nice if up were bound to top-right, so that only one key would be needed. If that were at least an option, I'd love it.But! The game looks really nice, and I love the style.. I guess I have to admit that I've fallen a little bit in love with Inked from the first time I saw it.The art style developed for Inked is so elegant. It's clean and simple and at the same time really original, recognizable and unique. The splashes of color and the world design is just astonishingly beautiful. It gives the whole game and playing experience a great atmosphere to wonder in.The controls are so simple that you might be fooled into thinking that Inked is a simple game. Don\u2019t make that mistake. One can quickly discover the amount of effort and attention to detail that went into the game\u2019s design.The music and sound design really get you immersed in this lovely adventure. I can't wait to dive deeper into Inked.. Puzzles games are pretty much the only thing I play, and I read this game is chock full of them. It's the truth. I'm about two hours in and there is such a variety of puzzles. Sure, sometimes the pacing is a bit off but for the most part they are very entertaining or should I say challenging.The art is very pretty, it's what attracted me to the game (aside from the promise of good puzzles). The images don't do it justice, because it is only when you move in the world, you can really start appreciating it. What surprised me is the music, you don't hear much of it. It's also very nice and calming, helps concentrate on the puzzle solving.The story also seems interesting for now (it's not exactly what I thought it would be), so if you are into that you should be very happy.All in all even now I feel this is a solid purchase and I'm looking forward to finishing it :). To make this shorter, just to mention a few things that might interest someone: - Ineresting story - Solid gameplay (controles can be set in the Options and easy to control) - Game not to short, not to long ( I don\u00b4t know about others but for me it was great to have full 8 - 10 hours expirience) - Beatiful enviroment and componented music - Challenging and interesting levels and puzzles (Well still sometimes easy sometimes hard but it is easy to cooperate with puzzles) - The only thing I miss and want to be fixed is saving, checkpoints and colletable birds (beacuse if you want a different ending and collected too many \/ less birds you neeed to play it again).Overall, I had a great expirience and for me it is a wonderful game! First and foremost, congratulations to the people from Somnium Games[somniumgames.com] on their hard-working effort to produce an amazing game.Now about the game itself…The gameplay and the whole story behind the game is great. It shows a big amount of creativity that was put into making it all possible. A mixture of a drawing-style looks and puzzle-type gives a game whole new dimension. At the times, it was extremely hard to figure out the way through a puzzle, but nonetheless fun. I was able to finish the game in 8-9 hours but I wouldn’t be surprised if it would take some people more or less time. 8hrs of game is just long enough to make it fun and addictive, but not long enough to make it boring. Amazing! So it wouldn’t seem that I’m writing down only good things and leaving the bad things out, there is a particular issue that I’ve encountered 5-6 times throughout the game: object placement using the cursor. Sometimes, it would place it on the wall that’s hidden because of the camera view and it would be hard to place it right where I want it to. Also, one small thing that didn’t effect the gameplay at any level but merely a simple glitch was when NH would sometimes slide from the wedge, he would just spin around uncontrollably at the bottom of it, just moments before hitting a solid ground.Nothing else to add,a solid 9/10, boys and girls!. I will update review as I will progress through the game but so far it's so beautiful that it hurts. Music is also very chill, and I could easily get lost in this one. :-)
